Spatial Variations of Fabric and Microstructure of Blue Ice Cores at the Shear Margin of Dalk Glacier, Antarctica

In this study, twenty-three one-meter-long cores were drilled from blue areas Dalk Glacier, Antarctica. these are analyzed using a G50 analyzer. This shows that shallow in region present cluster as consequence stress. grain size decreases following direction towards exposed bedrock end glacier, due blocking squeezing by bedrock. formation mechanism layers original accumulation area flows here, lifted shaped summer ablation denudation. basal Glacier strongly rubbed demonstrates fabric. analysis stable water isotopes weak negative correlation between with depth.
